New beginnings continues and continues…
Our next spa adventure for the two overscheduled and underappreciated mothers, doctors and best friends in great need for some rest in their lives is Sundara Inn and Spa.
Sundara is drawn from the Sanskrit word for beautiful. We can interpret it as beauty flowing from wellness that starts from within and at times that beauty needs nourishment to rejuvenate. This message really resonates for us completely.
Sundara Destination Spa is located in Wisconsin Dells just past the Wilderness Water Park. Nothing could describe our sheer joy when we drove past the noisy crowded kid-infested largest waterpark in the Midwest to the serene 26-acre destination hidden from view of local traffic
Inside the spa, the lobby rotunda is designed to incorporate the Feng Shui principles which contribute to a soothing and welcoming environment. Immediately we were informed that clothing was not neccessary and one could move around freely with our plush robe. However one caveat…..the spa facilities are coed. If you are like us and should I say a bit modest of our mature yet still attractive bodies, we needed bathing suits A.S.A.P.
Subsequently our destination was a bit interrupted with a short shopping trip along the Wisconsin Dells Strip to achieve our clothing needs (bikinis will not do). Once we finally returned to the spa, we were given some of the signature spa products that had botanicals and minerals indigenous to Wisconsin Dells so our authentic experience could begin.
After a long soak in the hot tub, we entered the relaxation area which had a beautiful lush view of nature with sky high pine trees and natural Wisconsin stone outcropping. The tranquil environment was complete with some hot herbal tea and dried fruit and nuts. We could just be. Be still. Breathe. We could embrace ourselves, our friendship and feel the brightness of being alive. This is all before they called our names for our therapeutic massage and holistic skin care.
This is definitely the PRESCRIPTION of beauty flowing from wellness. We will follow up on this advice next week with continued details of Sundara.
Stay well from SPA2DOCS.
