Armory Show in New York Is Bigger and Better Than Ever in 2015

armory showEach year, the Armory Show of New York seeks to showcase the world’s best art from the 20th and 21st centuries. Now in its 16th year, the show is more popular and better established than ever, with renowned pieces of art from the world’s leading galleries and most well-respected artists.

“The Armory Show is one of the most important exhibitions in New York, and in fact, in the world,” says Park West Gallery CEO Albert Scaglione. This year’s show will run from Thursday, March 5 through Sunday, March 8 and will be held on Piers 92 and 94 along the Hudson River in Manhattan.

The Armory Show is expected to attract large crowds throughout the extended Armory Arts Week, which will feature various programs, exhibitions, and art events designed to attract both talented local and global artists.

Each year, tens of thousands of visitors file through the armory to see what are considered the most important contemporary galleries in the world. In the past, the fair has been highlighted by names like Pollock and Picasso. This year there will be four main exhibits, with dozens of individual galleries within each.

As always, there will be a Modern exhibit featuring historically significant works of art from the 20th century, as well as a Contemporary exhibit with new art from living artists. The second annual Armory Presents exhibit will focus on single and dual artist presentations by galleries less than a decade old.

The 2015 Armory Focus, held on Pier 94, will highlight art from the Middle East, North Africa, and the Mediterranean (MENAM). As the Armory Focus for the year’s show, MENAM will present engaging and eye-opening galleries curated by Omar Kholeif of the Whitechapel Gallery in London, a dedicated symposium, site-specific projects, and not-for-profit institutions.

The 2015 Armory Show will be open to the public from 12pm to 7pm each day during the week, and the Armory Show 2015 Opening Day will be held on Wednesday, March 4 for invited guests only.

There will be 900 on-site parking spaces available, with nearby garages and rooftop parking options as well. For a detailed list of exhibitors, including artists from around the globe, please visit The Armory Show’s official website.
