PlayStation Network Update: 07/24/2008

Games, demos, sale prices. A great, great week on the PSN
Wow is all I can say. I have no idea how anyone can have any complaints about this weeks update. New games...check, new demos...check, PSP downloadable game...check, tons of media...check. Oh wait, there are no PS1 classics and people will still moan about lack of trophy support and in-game music, I for one am very happy (and poor) as a result...

PlayStation Network Update: 07/17/2008

More content on the PSN then you could even shake a giant stick at!
I told myself I wouldn't do it, I wouldn't talk about Final Fantasy XIII, I wouldn't cry... *sigh*. Weird week on the PSN, as on top of a quite stellar update to the PSN on the usual day (Thursday), there were a number of updates as the week progressed during E3.We finally have a new PSN game in the form of Elefunk, a PS1 classic by the name of...

PlayStation Network Update: 07/10/2008

A GREAT day on the PSN! Updates! Add-ons! Demos! Videos!
Wow -- you wanted demos, you got demos! First we had the successful re-introduction of in-game XMB and Trophies and the sound of trophies and SSHD being played is dinging around the world. On the add-on front we have a FREE (I know) add-on for Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and the requisite Rock Band tracks. The demo section is HUGE this week with demos...

PlayStation Network Update: 07/03/2008

A substandard update especially considering the firmware issues Sony is going through.
Sigh, I know Sony just can't pull a magic rabbit out of their hat, but I was kind of hoping to see a really nice update (read: PS1 games, demos, PSN games) after the 2.40 snafu. All we really see are the new issues of Qore (looks great though and has the Naruto demo, glee!), a free Guitar Hero 3 track and the late Rock Band stuff.Of course we...

Blu-ray Review: National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets

National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets is an average movie that benefits from an amazing audio and video transfer that truly enhances the film.
In this day and age being called Indiana Jones Lite is not necessarily a bad thing. National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets brings back academic turned treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates (Nicolas Cage) to defend his family's honor and find some long lost treasure in the process. While the movie is not a spectacular, visionary piece of...

PlayStation Network Update: 06/26/2008

An average week on the PSN. Where are the games Sony?
Well, I suppose every week can't be a blockbuster. I am still peeved at the drought of PS1 classics considering the announcement that Einhander and XenoGears will be on the Japanese PSN. If they ever release Vagrant Story I may have to move to Japan...or something.Well it isn't a completely horrible week. I am loving this trend of FREE...

PlayStation Network Update: 06/19/2008

A meaty update this week with some great content.
Another great week on the good old PSN! We have downloadable games for the PSP and PS3 in the form of Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure and Fatal Inertia EX. We also have a slew of add-on content for Hot Shots Golf, Rock Band (of course) and Guitar Hero III. The great surprises are free content for The Incredible Hulk, Pain and the MGS4...

Weeds Season 4 Preview

Season 4 starts strong as the family moves into a new town and a (mostly) new life.
The third season of Weeds ended with a fiery conclusion that left us all guessing what the Botwins would be up to this year. With the family homeless and Celia (Elizabeth Perkins) in jail and pointing the finger at Nancy (Mary Louise-Parker), anything can happen. This Monday the fourth season of Weeds has everything turned upside down and the...

PlayStation Network Update: 06/12/2008

A good update on a week that none is needed! MGS4 for the win!
Apologies that this is late, I am losing track of everything as I devote all my time to playing the AMAZING Metal Gear Solid 4! I just discovered that you can set the game to send Codec messages to your Bluetooth headset so it is a more immersive experience! Awesome!Great week on the PSN, but I have to make this quick, MGS4 is waiting and calling...

Blu-ray Review: Jumper

Jumper is a fun if somewhat shallow movie wrapped in an impressive Blu-ray package.
Imagine if you could instantly teleport to any location in the world. What would you do? Where would you go? Director Doug Liman explores that concept in the fast-paced action movie Jumper. The MovieJumper stars Hayden Christensen as David, a young man who discovers in a time of crisis that he has the amazing ability to teleport or 'jump'...
