Everything that was old is new again.  Things run in cycles.  Cynics would say that those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it. 

I think those last folks are wrong.  It's such a negative view of the world.  I prefer that those who don't remember their history can watch brand-spanking new TV shows as though they weren't developed based on older shows.  Thus, someone watching the CW's new 90210 TV show (which premieres Sept 2 at 8pm) will think the idea of a show about teens living in an exclusive Beverly Hills zip code is brand-spanking new. 

Those of us with more than just short-term memory will recall the massively popular and hugely successful Beverly Hills 90210 TV show that began in 1990 and ran for 10 seasons.  You know — Jason Priestly, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Kelly Kapowski?

Okay, let's say that your memory is a little glitchy, let's assume you don't remember Beverly Hills 90210.  First, I would call that shockingly weird.  Second, I would suggest that you reacquaint yourself with the series prior to the new series airing, because the new series is absolutely going to reference the old one.  They're even going to have some of the old stars as recurring characters.  You're going to want to know all about the whole prom dress thing.  Trust me.
