You've had it with your "regular" job. You're ready to strike out on your own, to unleash your business on the world. You finally take the plunge and your business becomes a success.

The more successful you become, the more you'll need some way to handle your accounting. You'll end up with inventory to track, billing needs, you'll have payables to stay on top of, you'll probably even have those pesky employees who want money which means you'll need a payroll department. It's obviously time for some software to help you manage all this.

There are a number of options to from which to choose. Consider an offering from Noguska, LLC: NolaPro. Its basic version is free to use. If you want to look it over, visit this site.

Noguska, LLC has been a software development company since 1973. They started out as a technical service shop to the printing industry. By 1978, they'd started to develop customized software. Their online, open-source accounting program, NOLA, began life in 2000 and NolaPro debuted in 2004. As mentioned, the program is free; much of Noguska's profits from NolaPro are derived from customization. The company will alter the software for your business, in other words. It can fit your specific needs. Note some of the features of NolaPro.

FEATURES

As already noted, the basic version is free. You can download it onto your hardware at no cost and then you or your employees can access it from wherever they happen to be. Or, you can request NolaPro's hosting services; it's about $17 per month. Included in the hosting package is access to all the premium add-ons, which will make the program even more powerful. The included modules in the basic version are: Inventory, Billing, Payables, Payroll, and Ledger.

In the Inventory module, you can track all your warehouse items. When you do the initial setup you can add multiple warehouse locations and track your goods through any of them. The Inventory module allows you to define your own categories for your goods and, of course, there are numerous reports to show the activity for each of these items. The initial setup is crucial and doesn't take too long.
