New York, NY-(October 1, 2008) My Fair Heathen Productions continues their foray into the dark and irreverent with the fall show, "Memoirs of Madness". Opening Halloween weekend, this horror double feature adapts two classic diaries of diseased psyches! Charlotte Perkins Gilman's, "The Yellow Wallpaper" is an indictment of the patriarchial prescription for 'bed-rest' forced on a woman with post-partum depression. Despite her yearning to for moderate activity and creative writing, the medical establishment as embodied in her physician husband quarantines her to a room in the country where the abhorrent wallpaper consumes her. With each diary entry, witness her initial revulsion by and eventual compulsion toward the graphic nightmare that is the wall covering in her isolated room. Next up is their take on that horror short of infamous notoriety, Edgar Allan Poe's, "The Tell-Tale Heart". Everyone knows this chilling narrative by a murderer whose guilt and psychosis betray his "perfect triumph"! Immerse yourselves in this multi-sensory melange of macabre minds!
