Sometimes in this life we need a cleaner. Sometimes in this life things are just too dirty to accept as they are. Sometimes in this life we need someone to come along who will do whatever it takes to scrub things clean.

Listen, it's a fact, there's nothing I can do about it, sometimes we need a cleaner.

Now, it is true that my cleaner bailed on me today with nary a word, but that's not why I tell you this. I'm not using my own personal misfortune or the fact that there's gunk on my counter that I just can't seem to get off as an excuse to say this, I'm saying it because it's a fact. Sometimes we need a cleaner.

And, thank goodness for A&E, because they're getting us one. A&E is launching its first new scripted drama in six years (I miss you, Nero Wolfe), and it just happens to be entitled… The Cleaner (premiering July 15 at 10pm ET/PT).

Yes, this cleaner is a different sort of cleaner than the kind of cleaner that I so desperately need to wipe the cobwebs off of the dinky chandelier that hangs in my dinette, but he's still a cleaner. He focuses more, it seems, on helping people in need of getting "clean."

To me, it sounds like there's going to be a lot of emotion packed into the show. At least they have Bratt (Benjamin) to do it with. If you'll forgive the pun, there's a whole Bratt Pack thing going on with it.
