Jamie Lynn Spears Gives Birth To A Baby Girl

Seventeen-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears, younger daughter in the corrupt Spears family and star of Nickelodeon TV show, Zoey 101, reportedly had a baby Thursday, June 19th. Jamie Lynn paid a visit to a hospital in Southern Mississippi near the Spears ' home in Louisiana early Thursday morning.

Her baby is named Maddie Briann. (Of course, my name is now forever tarnished by being linked to the Spears name.) Maddie weighed 7 pounds and 11 ounces at birth and is supposedly very healthy. Not much else is known about the baby.

Ellen Brannan, spokeswoman for Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center, said, "We understand everybody's interested, but we don't give out information on anyone. Everyone's entitled to their privacy."

The baby's father is Jamie's fiancé, Casey Aldridge, a 19-year-old pipe layer from Liberty, Mississippi. When the pregnancy was announced in December, there was speculation that Casey was not the actual father. Jamie supposedly dumped Casey months earlier for cheating on her. The major rumor was that the real father is a high executive at Nickelodeon. This would be completely unethical, not to mention illegal for someone to have sex with a minor. However, this is not proved.

Zoey 101 ended after its fourth season, but is still airing regularly on Nickelodeon and The-N. Nickelodeon issued the following statement: "We wish her and her family well."

The most interesting thing about her pregnancy was the reaction to it. I mean, teen idol/model for young kids, pregnant at sixteen? That just screams controversy. Some people like me looked at Miss Spears in shame. That Spears family is extremely messed up. However, most of the reaction I have found online is supportive of Miss Spears, applauding her to keep the baby. I don't know if applauding is the correct approach, but I have to give her credit for taking care of the girl - assuming she's more capable than her sister.

I don't know if I want to congratulate Miss Spears on something like this, but good luck, Jamie. I wish your child the best.

Maddy is 17 and is a senior year in high school. She is the Preview/Review editor for her school paper and excels in AP classes. She has a twin and loves the Pittsburgh Steelers. She has a radio show (part of the BC Radio Network) on Wednesdays at 5 PM available at BlogTalkRadio.

Maddie, there is something noxious about the story of Jamie Lynn's "supposed" birth coinciding with the story of teenagers in Gloucester, MA making a pregnancy pact. I might sound like and old crone, but what's the world coming to?

Your an ugly person inside and out so you have no right to bash Jamie Lynn!

Ashley, who was bashing Jamie Lynn?

And I do have to say that I found the following line funny, but I will not add any more to it:

The baby's father is Jamie's fiancé, Casey Aldridge, a 19-year-old pipe layer from Liberty, Mississippi.

There is no reason to add in the rude comments about the Spears family. Really unnecessary and unprofessional.

Megan--
If you want to argue that anything I have said is false, go for it.

Maddy, just for the record, I don't think your comments are rude at all. There's something intrinsically dysfunctional about the Spears family. (Throw all the eggs you want.) Why the majority think this is "normal" is beyond me.

Ha you all are pretty funny.
its life i highly doubt Jamie-Lynn wanted to get pregnant sometimes it just happens.

Jamie Lyn Spears I think that you were so stupid not to be careful and use a condome. I also think that you should keep your baby instead of giving it in adoption. You are giong to regret it trust me Iv'e been there.

She should have used a what? A condome? What is that - a hemispherical structure used to house criminals?

Call me cynical, but how would availing herself of such a facility avoid the sort of encounter that got the Spearsling into trouble in the first place?

#11 — July 5, 2008 @ 12:50PM — you're stupid not me

jamie is kind of stupid to have a baby i mean it wasn't her choice but once she knew that Casey was going to have sex with her she should have dumped him. I'm sorry if you feel offended but this is my opinion and you can't change it.

#12 — July 11, 2008 @ 19:23PM — mimi

jamie lynn is so dead for having a baby.

#13 — July 11, 2008 @ 19:29PM — mimi

jamie lynn sould have dumped him for having sex with him.i mean she could just go out of the hause just like her sister britney she want out and left her two kid's alone and she was out all nigh having fun and partying around

#14 — July 24, 2008 @ 13:46PM — funny kid

i think it's completely wrong for everyone to think that she's suddenly a terrible person because of the choice she made. i mean, think about it... thousands of teens get pregnant every year and no one makes as big a deal of it because they're not celebrities. don't get me wrong... i do think that it was a totally dumb and inappropriate thing for her to do, but the choice was hers and all that everyone can do about it is have their opinions. the only thing we can hope for is that she becomes a good mother and takes on the responsibility.
