Welcome back to the Movie Media column, featuring trailers, posters, and clips for upcoming films. Some are nice and fresh and some aren't. However, they all have something in common: for better or worse, they all caught my attention. If there is a poster or trailer you think I should check out, be sure to let me know.

This week's movie goodies include posters, stills, and trailers for a few upcoming summer hits, an indie flick, a couple of DVD releases, and a classic trailer for a film that changed the cinematic landscape, and more!

Star Wars - Trailer

Let's take a look back to where it all began for the Star Wars franchise. This looks to be the very first trailer for the film, complete with lame music and unfinished effects. Still looks like something I would want to go and see. It is interesting to look back and see how they promoted the film back in the day.

My Winnipeg - Poster, Trailer

Guy Maddin is an intriguing filmmaker. I say this having only seen one of his films, The Saddest Music in the World. That movie was just weird, and this one looks to match, if not surpass, that. My Winnipeg is an avant garde documentary (I think) centered on his hometown. The trailer explains the premise, sort of. I remember hearing of a screening where Maddin was in attendance and performed all of the narration live. That must have been fascinating. Anyway, check out the odd trailer and the very cool poster below:

August - Stills, Trailer

This could be good, but it does feature Josh Hartnett in the lead, so maybe not. I kid, I kid. Seriously, he is an all right actor, but he lacks that charisma needed to truly carry a film. Anyway, August looks pretty interesting. It takes a look at the dot com crash through the eyes of a fictional upstart company called Landshark and how they went right to the top and then had a very short period of time to save themselves as the bottom fell out of the market. Joining Hartnett in the cast are Robin Tunney, David Bowie, Rip Torn, and Naomie Harris. Austin Chick (XX/XY) is at the helm.

AUGUST 4 - Naomie Single AUGUST 3 - Hartnett and Director Chick with Camaro AUGUST 2 - Hartnett Single Bar AUGUST 8 - Rip Torn Single AUGUST 5 - Tunney, Royo and Hartnett AUGUST 1 - Hartnett Single Suit AUGUST 6 - Hartnett and Bowie AUGUST 7 - Adam Scott Single
