The experiment, week three. Are you still with me? Hopefully, you've been enjoying these posts and have a thirst for more. This week continues my compiling of videos and various musical related tid-bits for your viewing pleasure. Some will be brand spanking new, while others will just be things that I like.

You will likely notice that the majority fall in the metal realm. This is a trend that will likely continue for the foreseeable future. Now, my tastes definitely extend beyond metal, but as I read on a forum: "My tastes may have broadened as I have gotten older, but metal will always be my first love."

Hatebreed - "Defeatist"

I am not the biggest hardcore fan, but there are bands that catch my attention. Hatebreed is one of those bands. The first time I saw them was back in 1999 when they opened for Soulfly at a show in Poughkeepsie, NY. They did not impress me then, but each album has gotten successively better. I also found out a few years back that my childhood best friend joined them as their drummer (Matt Byrne). This was the first video I saw after learning this bit of news, and I must admit that it was weird seeing someone I know on MTV.

Bruce Dickinson Takes a Shot at Pot

Apparently this has happened at a number of shows, so some have written it off as some schtick. Others look at it as Bruce being a hypocritical ass. Personally, I like that he did it, whether in jest or not. Sure, Bruce may have toked earlier in his life, but has apparently gotten himself straightened out, sees the error of his past mistakes and is trying to make up for it now. As a professional, I do not blame him for doing it. I know I would not want to be breathing that while trying to sing. What happened? Well, Bruce called out a pot-smoking fan in a scene captured by another fan at the May 21, 2008 show in San Antonio, Texas.
