<description>I met Rick Derringer when I was in my twenties and just starting out as a rock writer (have the picture to prove it too). He was opening for I wanna&#039; say Aerosmith and wanted to hang out in Seattle afterwards. 

Super nice guy. We took him to Alki Beach, which was a popular Seattle crising spot for teens, and really freaked everyone out when he got out of the car and started signing autographs for everybody.

I&#039;ve seen Derringer play several times, both solo and with Johnny and Edgar Winter, and he was always a great guitarist who never really got his due. 

Now as for those seventies tragic romance tales, well that&#039;s another story...
