Music Media: Metallica, Children of Bodom, Iced Earth, Megadeth, Sangre, Disturbed, Meshuggah

Welcome to my new experiment. I am sure you are all regular readers of my weekly Movie Media column, right? I know you are. It's okay, you can admit it. No? What are you waiting for? Each week I deliver a dose of movie posters, trailers and stills for your enjoyment. This week even includes some DVD material.

As for this column, it is the same idea, except instead of movie related goodies, they are music videos and such. It is something new I am playing with, supply more content based on my areas of interest. So, read and watch on. I hope you enjoy!

New Metallica On the Way

As many of you know, I was late getting into music. I remember being introduced to Metallica by Matt Byrne (Hatebreed, I know, I'm shameless), with the masterful Master of Puppets. However, I did not listen to a complete album until And Justice For All. Anyway, their output has lagged following their popular explosion with the Metallica album, but I have not lost faith and have enjoyed all of their releases to varying degrees.

Well, it's time to get ready for another one! The guys are in the studio and are eyeing a Fall release. In honor of that, there are a couple of videos on YouTube. The first shows some of the staggering stats around the band, the other announces the creation of MissionMetallica.com, a site where fans can hear clips of new material and see all sorts of cool Metallica related stuff. Both vids feature a little snip of new material. I can't wait!

Children of Bodom - "Blooddrunk"

Finnish metal act Children of Bodom have released their latest video. The clip is for the title track from their latest LP, Blooddrunk. It is a performance based vid, and it's pretty good. There is nothing special to really make it stand apart, but watching them perform is fine, these guys are a talented bunch. Check out the video below.

Chris,

I like this. A lot actually. This may even be your "mest" (misspelling quite intentional) work yet. All kidding aside though, I'd actually really like to see this become a regular feature here in music. Just try to use a spellchecker first okay good buddy?

Nice work though.

Yea.. Great New Feature!

I'm just as psyched to see Mr. Barlow back where he belongs instead of being a Police Officer! He just f*cking rocks & I think it motivates the band to write better material. I still like Ripper Owens & I hope he can put together a talented bunch to release some similar stuff to his Iced Earth/Judas Priest days.

As for Sangre... *Ugh* They sound like a freakin High School band!! Just pure crap, dude! 20 seconds and all I heard was an loose mess. Sorry, gotta say what I feel...

Thanks guys. I will see how it goes, I only have so much time, ya know! However, these are fun and quite easy to put together as I do them one piece at a time with a weekly compile. Well, that's how the movie ones go.

I hope to make this branch out a permanent one. Be sure to keep your eyes on Fridays!
