In certain areas you'll need to switch characters to use their special weapon. For example, use Satipo to dig up treasure, then switch back to Indy to swing across a ravine. If other weapons are lying around or dropped by baddies, they can be used as well. According to the website, this is an improvement over the Lego Star Wars games. Another new feature is that the characters can interact more with the environment. They can swim, climb, and pick up and carry objects.

The cutscenes are wickedly cute and funny, faithful to the film yet injected with the game's quirky humor. For example, when head bad guy Belloq demands the idol from Indy (as in the movie), he tries to give him a rubber duckie instead! The odd thing about the cutscenes though, is that they don't seem to be skippable. They are great, but it'd be nice to have the option to skip them.

Something else I noticed was that after the cutscene in which Indy grabs the idol, the background music stopped. I don't know if that's just an error with the demo, or if it's on purpose. I hope it's an error, because not having the music while trying to escape a collapsing temple just didn't seem right. In spite of the game's kid-friendly vibe, Lego Indiana Jones seems to provide enough of a challenge to keep grown-up gamers on their toes. My poor little Lego Indy and Satipo exploded into plastic bits many, many times as they tried to swing across a ravine while dodging enormous falling stone heads. Overall, Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures looks like a fun game, and I look forward to trying out the full version when it comes out.

Looks interesting. I never saw the SW version. I'll have to check those out as well.

Buddy of mine and his kids are hooked on lego starwars. I shall have to make him hip to this one!
