Miley's in Trouble Now

Recently, a picture of Miley Cyrus on the cover of Vanity Fair was released and caused a stir for parents and Miley fans alike. This didn't bother me as much as the pictures that were released of her lying across a teenaged guy with her bra showing. The reason this all surprises me? Guess which picture I hear the most trash about?

Now, I don’t want to pass judgment on Miss Cyrus. What she does in her free time, and what article of clothing is showing is certainly none of my business. I'll be honest, I think she's stupid for letting this all happen – but she's a teenager, and I know from first hand experience that teenagers do stupid things. However, wouldn't you expect more people to be mad about the pictures with her bra showing than the Vanity Fair ones? I mean, which one do you think is going to have a more negative effect on your pre-teen daughter?

I don't even really see what's wrong with the Vanity Fair one. She was covered in a revealing, yet modest way, and she wasn't showing anything big. The biggest thing I have against it was that her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, let it happen. He probably wasn't even there. It can't be easy to be a celebrity and have your daughter be one, too. I'm sure he can't be with her all the time. I don't know if that justifies what happened, but I've certainly seen worse parenting.

Then we have the picture of her and the guy, no doubt a private photo revealed to the public by so-called friends. This one bothers me the most. As a star, you take on a certain responsibility to the public. You have to keep your personality, work with others, and look good for the public, understanding that there will be a few incidents. We're all going to make mistakes, and though in our eyes celebrities are gods, they're actually only human.

Miss Miley is certainly not trying to be a stupid slut like Lohan and Spears. Those pictures with the boyfriend were fairly mild private moments. Having been smacked upside the head with them like this, I predict she'll avoid doing that again.

The Vanity Fair cover is kinda tough. That more or less came out looking unmistakably slutty. But I don't think it's really fair for folks to hold that against her. Her people were there at the shoot, and probably should have objected.

But the specific circumstances are that Vanity Fair is calling to give you the cover of their magazine, and they're sending probably the most famous, prestigious photographer in the world. Annie Leibovitz is truly a photographic artist if there is such a thing. I could easily imagine the Cyrus people maybe having some misgivings, but trusting the judgment of their famous photographer.

If you want to be crappy with someone over that photo, it probably should be Leibovitz and Vanity Fair mostly.

I was going to write an article on this.

Ok, I'm actually the exact opposite of you. I don't really care about the boyfriend pic, but that wasn't really that bad. Tons of girls do that and no one really cares.

I have a huge problem with the Vanity Fair pic. I just cannot handle that her father let someone do this in the name of 'art.' This is not art. This is horrible. Honestly, I am a big fan of Miley and I believe she's really talented, but that's just disappointing.

Well, I don't know if Billy Ray even knew this was going on, he might not have been there (not exactly helping his case as a father, but still probably true). I just thought that the pictures she took privately would have a worse effect on pre-teens then the Vanity Fair ones. Either way, both pictures were kind of stupid mistakes. It's one I hope she doesn't make again.

Thanks for comments,

Billy Ray knew about the vanity fair articles. I don't know if he knew about the others. I think I read it on Yahoo news.

I'm so tired of all of this nonsense. Anyone care if the teennage boys on the cable shows are showing too much skin? What, NO?
