Welcome back to the Movie Media column featuring trailers, posters, and clips for upcoming films. Some are nice and fresh and some aren't. However, they all have something in common: for better or worse, they all caught my attention. If there is a poster or trailer you think I should check out, be sure to let me know.

This week's movie goodies include media for a stripper/zombie combo, musical horror, a DVD sequel, a cartoon and a comic adaptation, a comedy about making a movie, and more!

Uwe Boll Promises to Stop Making Movies

Well, that is if an online petition can get one million signatures. I will not be linking the petition, as you can likely find it on your own. Why? Because that would be giving it too much credit. I am probably giving him more press than he deserves by even mentioning it. Still, the video he put out proclaiming his genius is too funny to pass up. See for yourself (yes, I know this isn't your typical media, but I was quite amused):

Tropic Thunder - Posters, Trailer

This looks hilarious. With my luck it will turn out to be terrible, but this trailer makes this flick look like a lot of fun. It sort of reminds me of The Three Amigos. A war movie is being made, and in order to get realism, a group of actors are dropped in the jungle to shoot the film guerilla style, only to be confronted with a real army that believes America is invading them. On top of that, Robert Downey Jr. plays an actor who has his skin dyed to play an African American. Joining Downey are Ben Stiller and Jack Black. Stiller also serves as director. Here are a trio of character posters and the trailer:

Repo! The Genetic Opera - Stills, Trailer

As I watched the trailer, I could not help but shake my head and laugh. It looks like a cross between Saw and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I would be lying if I said I wasn't interested, but I have to wonder just how this will be marketed to a national audience, or if they will even try. It is set in a future where organ failure has ravaged the world and a company called GeneCo offers transplants at a steep price. If you miss a payment, the organ is repossessed. At the center is a young girl seeking the truth about her family and a cure, climaxing at the Genetic Opera. This sounds, and looks, utterly bizarre. It is being produced by Twisted Pictures and is being directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, III, IV). Here are a pair of stills and the trailer:

Kind of curious about Repo! The Genetic Opera. Sarah Brightman's in it, as it Paris Hilton. Weird, wild stuff.

I am definitely curious too, but I cannot seeing it being a hit.

I don't think it's supposed to be. It'll be a cult hit in 'bout five years, though.
