TV Review: American Idol - Top Seven Results

Group One: Jason, Carly, Syesha

Group Two: David C., Kristy, Brooke

David Archuleta was left standing behind stage while Mariah Carey performed her single, "Bye Bye." Ironic, huh? Mariah performed brilliantly. Her voice is just amazing. After her song, and a bit of teasing about Randy, the show continued on.

David Archuleta was called to stage, and Ryan told him he was safe, but that there were too many "Cooks" in the kitchen. It seems the groups weren't completely accurate. Sneaky Ryan! Syesha was exchanged for David Cook, which left the groups as follows:

Group One: Jason, Carly, David C.

Group Two: Syesha, Kristy, Brooke

Ryan then told David A. that he had to choose which group he should stand with. Which group did David A. think was safe? Smart kid for not making THAT decision! Instead, David A. chose to sit down where he stood (something I believe another contestant did in the same circumstance in a past season - but I can't remember who).

We quickly found out that group one was safe, so that meant the bottom three were Kristy Lee Cook, Brooke White, and Syesha Mercado. I was off by one, as I had Carly in Kristy's place. But I wasn't disappointed, as I think Carly has earned her right to be there more so than Kristy has. So, who's safe? Who's going home?

Syesha - SAFE

Brooke - SAFE

That's right, many weeks after I thought she should have been sent home, Kristy Lee Cook is leaving American Idol. Better late than never! I seriously began worrying she might just make it to the final two. And while her past couple of weeks of performances have been decent, I still don't think they made up for "Eight Days A Week" sang with a country twang.

Seven became six. Next week another goes home. I'm thinking it might be Brooke unless she ramps it up a notch. What do you think?

I'm not surprised that Kristy went home tonight although she's been improving each week and in my opinion was doing better than Carly who is beginning to get on my nerves. I really don't believe that she will last unless she gives up trying to sing with the "big" voice that she doesn't have. I also think that the "Davids" will be the last two standing and that David Cook has the edge at the moment.

Grandpa Idol -- I completely agree. I see a David A./David C. finale at this point. And yep -- David C. has the edge, and I think he should. He's more versatile than David A. (or at least what he's shown us so far), and he has that definite "star" quality I haven't really seen in David A.
