This on the other hand is about as subtle as a twat to the head from a bouncer. This is screamocore metal recorded live with a mosh pit going and lots of aggression. Oddly enough the lead singer goes on about "positivity," but you know that people are getting hurt in the audience. For a live album, the songs are pretty good, but not great. You get to hear lead singer say the word fuck every other word in his on-stage raps. Yep, it's that "raw".

He rants about the poseurs and wannabes naturally. Not my cup of warm beer, I have to say. But you can truly feel the energy seeping from the speakers when you listen to this lot. It's earnest and in your face; just comes across as a bit overdone and dull. Something you need to hear live methinks. One for the band's fans.

Michael Bormann: Capture the Moment

Erstwhile lead singer of veterans Jaded Heart unleashes his third solo album. What you have hear is a collection of classy hard rock. From the Jaded Heart track "Love is Magic" to the opening rocker "When Push comes to Shove" to the defiance of "Half Way Down" you know this guy has got the pipes to make it work. Raspy almost to a fault but with a twist of originality, no Rod Steward wannabe this guy. Bormann ranks up there with some of the best lead singers out there on the European scene. He ain't no slouch in the song-writing department either.

You learn rather quickly why this guy was up for a Grammy. Producer, songwriter and singer, this bloke knows how to write, construct, and sing great hard rock like few others. Let him show you how it's really done. Depressingly for his fellow songwriters you are well aware this is just dipping into the well of his songwriting talent.

Well, that is your lot for this week. A bit of a journey it has to be said from the goth dancefloor, through the CBGB mosh pit, to the classy end of hard rock.
