You'll most likely recognize Adam Levy as the longtime guitarist for Norah Jones. However, Adam has broken out on his own in between tours with her Handsome Band. His strength is still in his guitar playing, but Adam is no doubt a formidable songwriter. Norah Jones herself recognized Adam's writing ability when she put his "In the Morning" on her second record Feels Like Home.  In addition to Norah, Adam has recorded or toured with Tracy Chapman, Amos Lee, M. Ward and Roseanne Cash.

Adam came to Sun Studio with Amber Rubarth, who he often tours with. Indeed, the pair are in Europe now. Beyond playing live, they have written songs together (one of which you'll hear later in this series) and they often provide backing support on each other's songs.  The two compliment each other well, and the collaboration is one we'll likely see for a long time to come.  In addition to coming to play with Amber, Adam brought other great musicians to play: Andy Hess (Govt Mule) on bass and Tony Mason (Norah Jones) on drums.

Beyond the great playing, one of the funnest parts of Adam's visit to Sun was our trip to Gus' World Famous Fried Chicken on Front Street in Memphis.  When picked up at the airport, going to Gus' was one of Adam's first requests. The band devoured a savory meal that infused some down home Memphis soul that they rechanneled into their performance later that evening.
