Welcome back to the Movie Media column featuring trailers, posters, and clips for upcoming films. Some are nice and fresh, and some aren't. However, they all have something in common: for better or worse, they all caught my attention. If there is a poster or trailer you think I should check out, be sure to let me know.

This week's movie goodies include media for an unrated horror film, a late summer comedy, a long awaited sequel, another remake, a couple of documentaries, and more!

The Life Before Her Eyes - Stills

It was just a couple of weeks ago that I brought you the trailer and poster for Uma Thurman's latest project; now I have a couple of stills. The film looks to be a fascinating character study of how someone's life can change in the blink of an eye. It is about a woman named Diana who pushed the limits as a teen until a moment of unexpected violence changes her life's path. It looks at her life in both times played by Thurman and Evan Rachel Wood.

Bangkok Dangerous - Poster, Still, Trailer

It was some years ago that I saw a wild film from Thailand called Bangkok Dangerous. It was written and directed by an up and coming brother duo, Danny and Oxide Pang. I do not remember many details, but I do remember liking it. Now we are faced with another take on the tale, the Hollywood remake. I guess we can be thankful it isn't another horror remake, maybe? I cannot see this sticking too closely to the original, as the hit man lead character in the 1999 film was a deaf mute, and I cannot see Nicolas Cage playing a mute in an action film. Anyway, it is the story of a hit man in Bangkok who falls for a local woman. The poster is a rather bland looking head shot, but the trailer seems promising. Perhaps the fact that this is being directed by the original directors is a good thing? This, despite their misstep of The Messengers.

Cactus - Poster

This is a very nice poster for a film I had never heard of prior to seeing it. It is an Australian thriller about a man who is kidnapped and driven into the Outback, towards where the man is due to be delivered. The journey will reveal the details as both men are tested by their elements. I also think the tagline is brilliant. One wonders just how this film will be.

Standard Operating Procedure - Posters, Trailer

Errol Morris has made some fantastic documentaries over the years, including The Thin Blue Line and The Fog of War. This time he turns his camera towards the Iraq war and the events at Abu Ghraib. With all of the films coming out about the conflict that are either completely fictional or inspired by true events, it could prove interesting to see an actual documentary. Here is the trailer and a pair of posters for the film:
