TV Review: American Idol - Top Ten Results

Who would leave the American Idol stage forever? Of course, that question wouldn't be answered until the end of the night, which meant the entertainment had to commence instead! For AI, that meant the top ten did their group singing thing. And yes, this week, the Brady Bunch Variety Hour was back in force. I really wish they'd figure out a way to make these group performances not so cheesy.

Other entertainment for the top ten results show included more questions called in from viewers. We found out that Chikezie is single and that Brooke White would love to sing a duet with John Mayer. Oh - and what was the deal with that iTunes infomercial? Did it seem REALLY long to you?

Season two's Kimberley Locke made an appearance on the Idol stage singing her current single, "Fall." She looked awesome, didn't she? They did a video spot before she sang where she brought everyone up to speed on her activities since leaving the show. It was nice seeing her again as she was one of my favorites from season two.

At the end of the evening, the bottom three contestants were Chikezie Eze, Syesha Mercado, and Jason Castro. What? No Ramiele? No Carly? And why was Syesha there? While I thought Jason's performance was better than a bottom three showing, I wasn't totally surprised to see him there. But Syesha? I felt bad for her. She can't seem to catch a break! Her performance shouldn't have put her in the bottom three in my opinion.

So - the only contestant I guessed would be in the bottom three that was actually accurate was Chikezie Eze. And, as it turns out, it was Chikezie's time to go. While I get it, I'll miss his charm and his style. I'll never forget his performance of "She's a Woman," which I believe was his best performance on American Idol. Hopefully, he'll take that charm and find a marketable niche for himself.

Were you as surprised by the results as I was? Let me know what you think!

Carly is the best in the competition by a mile. I really don't understand people saying she should be in the bottom three. Absoloute ludacris!

Kristy, Ramiele or Carly should have been in the bottom three instead of Syesha! How clever of Kristy to choose a patriotic song - how could the judges relegate the singer of a patriotic song to the bottom without being accused of treason. We'll see who goes next. Probably none of these three...

The judges don't relegate anyone anymore, Phyllis. It's all up to the voters.
