Part of Movie Media

This week features a couple of non-trailer, but still movie-related, items. One is a television commercial that cracks me up and the other is a cool montage of horror gore. This is something I may do more of going forward. There are clips and things on YouTube that are very enjoyable and fit in with what I am doing here. I hope you like.

Anyway, welcome back to the Movie Media column, featuring trailers, posters, and clips for upcoming films. Some are nice and fresh, and some aren't. However, they all have something in common: for better or worse, they all caught my attention. If there is a poster or trailer you think I should check out, be sure to let me know.

This week's movie goodies include trailers, posters, and stills covering all manner of upcoming fare, from a returning icon, to foreign family, to urban thrills, to smart comedy (well, hopefully anyway), and more!

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - Trailer

Much like Sly returning to the Rocky and Rambo franchises, there have been many questions, and anxieties, accompanying the upcoming resurrection of Indiana Jones. That includes myself. Is Harrison Ford too old? Did they wait too long? Will there be Nazis? Why Shia? Well, the trailer is here, and it looks fantastic! Spielberg, Lucas, Ford, Allen, adventure, action, excitement, it all looks to be here. I cannot wait.

Smart People - Poster, Trailer

This looks like it could be fun. Dennis Quaid stars as a self-absorbed professor who suffers a seizure which precludes him from legally driving. He starts dating his doctor, his brother moves in to drive him around, and his daughter seeks to move closer to her goals. Ellen Page, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Thomas Haden Church co-star. Now, while the trailer is good, the poster seems a bit bland.

Horror Movie Montage

Looking to add a little blood to your routine? Do yourself a favor and check out the clipshow below. It has a lot of good scenes and moments that let the red stuff fly. Watch it and see how many films you can guess:

Boarding Gate - Poster

Hmmm. Can't say this poster isn't intriguing! This Cannes 2007 selection tells the story of a woman in London who is having an affair with two men. One is a guy in the finance trade, the other, a hit man hired to kill him. Meanwhile, the hit man's wife is behind the scenes manipulating the players. Could be fun, or at least just a nice poster. Asia Argento co-stars with Michael Madsen, Carl Ng, and Kelly Lin. Oliver Assayas writes and directs.

Chris--there's also an international trailer floating out there for Street Kings. Has a lot more in it (and more of Laurie's role). Has a lot more dialogue in general. It's here:

as for IJ4, it's gonna be tough to match or even come close to the quality and originality of the original Indiana Jones'
