Semi-Pro - Posters

As the release of the next Will Ferrell sports comedy draws ever closer, the hype machine keeps moving. To that end three new character posters have arrived, made up to look like trading cards. They feature Ferrell, Woody Harrelson, and Andre Benjamin. I am really not sure if the film is going to be any good, but the poster design is rather clever.

Donkey Punch - Poster

This movie sounds like it could be quite brutal. Hopefully it will live up to the simple, yet emotionally charged premise. A group of twenty-somethings are partying on a party boat in the ocean. One of their number is killed in a tragic accident, and the rest begin to argue about what their next step should be. The poster is rather striking in its simplicity.

The Happening - Trailer

M. Night Shyamalan is heading back to the big screen. The teaser trailer for his latest creation is beginning to circulate, and I have to say, it looks pretty good. M. Night is an interesting filmmaker. He is stronger as a director than a writer, but even his failures are interesting. He is once again writing and directing, which makes me a little nervous in the wake of The Village and Lady in the Water. I can only hope that this is a step up in the writing department. Anyway, it is the story of some sort of natural event that is causing people to drop dead or commit suicide,or something. It stars Mark Wahlberg, and looks rather creepy. See for yourself:

Under the Same Moon - Poster, Trailer

Looking for a good cry? I have a feeling, based on the trailer, that this film will deliver. It is the story of a mother who comes to the US, leaving her son behind, so that she can make enough money to bring him to her. Back in Mexico, her young son is left with his grandmother, but when she dies, he makes the decision to make the trip across the border in search of his mother. The film looks quite good, and even has some comedy along the way. Hopefully, it will deliver. I cannot say that the poster is anything special, but it does the job.
