DVD Review: Family Guy Presents - Blue Harvest

Even the DVD looks like the Star Wars DVDs — and the DVD menu screens start exactly like a regular Star Wars movie starts. The music kicks in, the title recedes into space with images of the film inside the title logo, and then it moves on to give you the menu options. Even the font for the options is exactly the same as the Star Wars DVDs. As a fan of both franchises, you couldn’t ask for a more faithful parody.
Extras include:
More than four minutes of exclusive DVD material. There were some pretty funny scenes that were cut for nothing other than time, including Joe playing Biggs Darklighter in a wheelchair.
The animatic version of the episode; this featurette shows the animated storyboards and an earlier draft of the script. It's interesting to see what jokes and characters were changed for the actual airing.
The featurette "Once in a Lifetime: The Making of Blue Harvest" covers the production of the entire episode and how everyone wanted to be involved no matter how small a contribution they could make.
The commentary is a great feature with MacFarlane, Sulkin, director Dominic Polcino, and other crew members talking about how this episode came about, who contributed various gags, and they even bring up a potential gag planned for their parody of The Empire Strikes Back.
An interview of George Lucas by Seth MacFarlane, where they discuss Star Wars, Family Guy, and other topics, including dating.
"A Family Guy Star Wars Clip Show" contains clips from all Family Guy episodes which reference Star Wars.
It was earlier promised that we would get an early look at Family Guy’s sequel to "Blue Harvest", “Something Something Something Dark Side” and a table reading of the completed script. They are on this disc, hidden as Easter Eggs, but they’re worth the search, especially the table reading; it's under 3 minutes, but the aforementioned gag talked about in the commentary is part of the table read.
