Movie Media: You Don't Mess With the Zohan, The Hottie and the Nottie, Semi-Pro, Witless Protection, The Signal, The Accidental Husband
Published January 04, 2008
Welcome to the Movie Media column featuring trailers, posters, and clips for upcoming films. Some are nice and fresh, and some aren't. However, they all have something in common: for better or worse, they all caught my attention. If there is a poster or trailer you think I should check out, be sure to let me know.
This week's movie goodies include trailers and posters for new comedies from some heavy and not so heavy hitters, a new horror flick, and more!
You Don't Mess with the Zohan - Poster, Trailer
Adam Sandler is following I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry (a role he was less than suited for) with something that is more up his alley. You Don't Mess with the Zohan stars Sandler as a highly skilled Israeli soldier. As good as he is, he gets tired of that life and wishes to move on. He wants to put down his weapons and pick up scissors and a hair dryer — he wants to cut and style hair. All goes well until he is recognized. The trailer makes the film look like dumb fun; I hope it delivers.
The Hottie and the Nottie - Poster, Trailer
Please, God, no! Paris Hilton stars in what will clearly be a contender for worst movie of the year. That is, if anyone actually goes to see it. One glimpse at what lurks below should be enough to dispel any notion of stupid fun.
Semi-Pro - Poster, Trailer
Got a new poster for the new Will Ferrell comedy. Will it be another Blades of Glory? Or will it be more like Talladega Nights? My gut says the former. I haven't seen anything that has sold me on it yet, although we do get a look at two of his co-stars, Andre Benjamin and Woody Harrelson. THe new trailer reveals cast mates Andy Richter, Will Arnett, and Tim Meadows. Maybe, just maybe, this will be fun.
