Having Not Already Done Enough Damage: Celia tries to double-bribe Rufus by offering to buy all of mom’s paintings if he’ll stop Dan from escorting Serena to the ball. When he refuses to be bought she hits him in the gut with her 20-year-old act of treachery.

Dan Mistake #787: Dude, tell Serena what her grandmother did, but don’t editorialize and tell her that the woman she loves is “the most manipulative person you’ve ever met in your life.” Even I wasn’t that stupid when it happened to me.

Lily Gets Double Redemption: Both Serena and Rufus forgive her in one fell swoop. Even Jenny would rather have her for a mom than the one she has. Lily was a big winner this week.

The Fight for Jenny’s Soul: Jenny thinks that she can walk the high society tightrope without losing herself. Mom isn’t so sure. Jenny wants to go to the debutante dance after being invited by Lily. Mom, of course, thinks that Lily is Joseph Stalin, and isn’t pleased when she sees her daughter swooning over Lily shortly after refusing the thrift store black pumps that she bought for her. Mom has a point but Jenny got an even worse punishment for her “my friends get expensive clothes” tantrum because in mom’s eyes turning to Lily is truly turning to the dark side.

Mom Asks Jenny, “Do You Like the Person You’re Becoming?" Shockingly, Jenny doesn’t immediately respond. Hell, yes, I’ve been working my ass off to become this!

The Big Question: Did Jenny steal those shoes in the department store?

Eric, Call Your Agent: You weren’t even invited to your sister’s coming out party? Now, that’s a reason to kill oneself.

Mini-Blairs Finally Doubly Introduced: Being a debutante is also called being introduced and due to the ball we finally got some full names, Katia Farkus and Isabelle Coates! Farkus?

Gossip Girl: I think she’s just a Serena stalker; then again, who wouldn’t stalk Serena?

Blair’s New Temporary View of Nate: He’s Hamlet, she wants Romeo. Who knew Blair was so well read?

Blair Increases Her Cute Factor With Me 500%: She once sewed a heart trinket on Nate’s sweater so her heart would always be on his sleeve. Awwwww!

Nate: The grass is always greener on the other side. He’s jealous because Blair seems suddenly happy and wants her back.

Men’s Fashion: For some reason every single male at the ball is wearing a black tuxedo, but Nate’s is gray!
