Fury takes an aspect of most MMORPG (Massively multiplayer online role-playing game) to a whole new level. Most MMORPG have an element of PvP (Player vs. Player) combat, but Fury is all about PvP. The whole premise of the game is to kill the other players.

Much like other MMORPGs, there is no point of the story for Fury. Much because the only mode you can do is PvP, why would you need a story? Anyways, there is a story, the player is a reincarnated warrior. You fight for essence, and your memories. You will find yourself not caring about the story and just focusing on fighting other warriors.

When you first begin Fury, you are thrown into a simple tutorial teaching you the basics of the game. After choosing your archetype (read: class), you are pitted against other players for the first time. The battles are fast and furious, spells thrown left and right. For a player that just started PvP, this will seem overwhelming. Do not fret, the game is easy to learn, no one starts off as the best player.

There are three ways different game play modes to slaughter your opponents in. They are Bloodbath (Deathmatch), Vortex (Capture the Crystals), and Elimination (4v4 Elimination style). You will find yourself playing Vortex and Elimination the most, because they require the most strategy. Another reason is because not many people pursue Bloodbath, so they only have a Bloodbath battle every so minutes. Be careful when you enroll in bloodbath, as you will encounter the same foes most likely, and they like to gang up on new players.

Battles are very fast-paced. Sometimes it's hard to keep track of everything. The targeting system doesn't help it much, as it makes your poor character face your opponent automatically. With this, you will be finding yourself running into many objects within the arenas. It frequently is hard to get a bearing on where you enemy is. In addition, the inclusion of being able to pick from 24 spells/skills is another confusing aspect. It is such a large number that it can get tiring finding which one suits the situation. Even with these minor flaws, the battles in Fury are still exhilarating and fun.

In Fury during battle, certain spells earn you "Elemental Charges." These charges allow you to use higher-level spells, which in turn consume the charges. This is a very unique idea that throws away the element of MP.

Fury is based on the Unreal 3 engine, so expect gorgeous graphics. Although, the game does not look as impressive as other games running this engine (BioShock), the game still looks amazing. The game does suffer from poor voice acting during the beginning.

Sadly the game also suffers from terrible lag issues, which is a shame. A game that focuses on PvP, time is everything. Lag really brings it down, hopefully this issue can be fixed.

Fury is a fast-paced PvP game made for non-casual gamers. It is an exhilarating game filled with plenty of spells and people to quench your thirst for death.
