Welcome to the Movie Media column - trailers, posters, and clips for upcoming films. Some are nice and fresh, some aren't. However, they all have something in common — they caught my attention, for better or worse. If there is a poster or trailer you think I should check out, be sure to let me know, and I will see what I can do.

This week's movie goodies include media for a renowned foreign director's English language debut, a comedy about pregnancy, a dramedy about family relations, an action star's comeback, the long awaited follow-up to Donnie Darko, and more!

My Blueberry Nights - Poster, Trailer

Wong Kar Wai's latest is on its way. This time he is taking aim at America, making his English language debut with My Blueberry Nights. I have had limited exposure to his films, but they always have a certain beauty to them, poetry in motion. It will be interesting to see how well it makes the language transition. The cast includes Norah Jones, Jude Law, and Natalie Portman.

The Bucket List - Poster, Trailer

The trailer for The Bucket List looks pretty good. I do get the feeling that it could wind up being a bit on the overly sentimental side, but I am willing (and hoping) to be surprised. The pairing of Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman could prove to be a stroke of genius. They have two widely differing personae that could complement each other well on the big screen. After I saw the trailer, I saw this poster and it just looks completely lazy, relying completely on the star recognition to sell it. Hopefully another design will emerge.

The Savages - Poster, Trailer

This movie looks funny and touching. It also looks like it will have a sentimentality that won't go overboard. Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Laura Linney star as brother and sister who have to deal with their aging father. Of course, the two don't see eye to eye and differ on how and what to tell their father. The trailer is funny and the poster design looks great, different, fresh, and intriguing.
