Countdown to 165: Weeks 18-19 - The Final Stretch

The week I visited New England and ate clam chowder and drank beer, I lost no weight, disrupting my pattern of two pounds per week. However, I lost two pounds the following week, so I'm back on track. I'm glad I kept the cheating down to a single meal! My size 32 pants are fitting comfortably, so I bought another pair.

I hope to lose another two pounds this week, which will put me at 70 pounds lost total. I haven't yet decided what I'm going to eat for breakfast Tuesday morning, and I may actually have a protein shake. Habits die hard, and they're convenient and tasty. However, I don't think I'll be eating tuna for some time.

My biggest weight weakness, I realized after starting this diet, is Pepsi. Specifically, Pepsi from QuikTrip, with Vanilla added. For the first dozen weeks of the countdown, I stayed away from even diet soda, determined to break the habit. I now wonder whether soda is my alcoholism; it seems I'll never be free from it! Fortunately, Pepsi One is sweetened with Splenda and doesn't load me up with calories, so I'm drinking that every couple of days now. Sometimes I drink Wild Cherry Diet Pepsi, but that has even more nasty artificial sweeteners in it, so I try to stay away from it. Not very well, obviously. Come Tuesday, I can't go back to regular Pepsi, so I'm stuck with diet soda or iced tea forever.

2007-09-25: 188, -2 pounds, 33 inch waist
2007-10-02: 186, -2 pounds, 33 inch waist
2007-10-09: 184, -2 pounds, 32 inch waist
2007-10-16: 184, no change, 32 inch waist
2007-10-23: 182, -2 pounds, 32 inch waist 68 pounds lost total!
