In previous segments of Floorplan, we've covered practical topics such as buying a condo and child proofing your home. This week's segment, however, appeals to the kid in all of us as OpenHouseNYC host, George Oliphant outlines how anyone, in any home, can build a game room and arcade.

First George meets with homeowner Jeff Kinder who describes the process of converting his basement into an arcade that would make Fred Savage's brother in The Wizard jealous. Jeff spent $5,000 preparing his basement for the cavalcade of games and then brought in about 40 games with an average price of $600. Jeff brought in Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Off-Road extreme, and his personal favorite, Dragon's Lair.

Perhaps not everyone is able to pump enough quarters into their home to build Jeff's style of arcade, so next George met with apartment owner Mitch Gearson (and his less than enthusiastic wife Gail) and found out how to scratch one's gaming itch on a smaller scale and budget.

But if your idea of gaming involves a foosball or air hockey table, George also met with Shawn Sweeney at Billiard Towne to find out the budgets and space requirements for foosball, ping-pong, pool, air hockey, and dart boards.
