PBS Primetime Programming for The Week of September 9
Published September 07, 2007
I think the time has really come for me to find a new quest. I really don't know what it should be. A walk-on in the next James Bond film would really be something at the top of my list, but I just don't know if that is something that is doable. Are they even filming any of it in the United States? I really can't afford the cost of a flight to some exotic locale, even if it is to be in the background of a James Bond movie. What do you think, is that just too quixotic?
Sunday, September 9:
8:00 - 9:00PM
Nature - “Land of the Falling Lakes.” There is a forest known as the Devil's Garden in Croatia. There exists in said garden 16 falling lakes. This seems to mean a bunch of lakes are connected by waterfalls and rapids. It does sound pretty cool, as does the wildlife, like the baby dragon, that lives there.
9:00 - 10:30PM
Mystery! - “The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, Series V: Natural Causes”. That Lynley. He's been suspended pending the outcome of his disciplinary hearing. That doesn't stop him from helping out Havers though with a new case. Yeah, that'll go over well.
10:30 - 11:00PM
Visiones: Latino Art and Culture - "Episode Three". In "Episode Three," Anakin succumbs to the Dark Side and becomes the Sith Lord Vader. It's probably the most bloody of the episodes, and even features the Teatro Campesino and Luis Valdez as well as the Texas Day of the Dead Celebration (great movie, by the way).
Monday, September 10:
8:00 - 9:00PM
Antiques Roadshow - “Honolulu (Hour Two).” This must have been quite the lulu of a trip to Hawaii, because it originally aired in January of this year, and now it is airing again. Go Hawaii! You may be the last state, but your first in my heart.
9:00 – 10:00PM
History Detectives. - There are so many jokes to be made about the name of this program, and I've laid out a few of them before. I urge you to dig up the archives and check them out. Look into what has been said and when and by whom. I think you know what I'm asking you to be here.
10:00 - 11:30PM
The Blitz: London's Longest Night. There are some things even I won't joke about, and the Blitz is one of them. This show mixes CGI and archive footage in order to recreate scenes and is based on eyewitness accounts. True, this show has aired before, but it still sounds fascinating.
