Jeremy Sisto Appears on My Boys!

Breaking news from Crowley’s Bar – Jeremy Sisto comes to Chicago and drops in on My Boys to play Thorn, P.J.’s ex-boyfriend. Sisto’s stint with the Boys is a quick stop before he joins the Law and Order cast in September. His acting career actually began in Chicago, when he was in the production of Tennessee Williams’ House Not Meant to Stand at the Goodman Theatre, so this will be a homecoming of sorts for the unshaven actor.

Sisto has had numerous roles in television and film. His first big screen appearance was in Lawrence Kasdan’s ensemble movie Grand Canyon. He has also had roles in such varied film projects such as White Squall, Clueless, Jesus, Wrong Turn, Thirteen, and Angel Eyes. Television credits include Numb3rs, Kidnapped, a vocal role on American Dad, and my favorite, the unstable but often endearing Billy Chenowith on HBO’s Six Feet Under.

Jeremy Sisto and Jordana SpiroNot that the very successful writing/directing/acting team of My Boys actually needs the help of hottie Sisto, but why not? Many successful shows enjoy well placed guest-star visits. Of course, it’s easy to fall into the trap of ratings stunt casting that occurs during television sweeps periods, but I haven’t seen evidence on that on My Boys. Oh wait, I take that back. There’s not much of a bigger star than the legendary Wrigley Field, which was one of the destinations during Andy’s birthday festivities. P.J. (Jordana Spiro) was able to get the guys into the stadium and onto the diamond to play in impromptu game in which Andy (Jim Gaffigan) hit an amazing home run, à la Robert Redford in The Natural.

Last season also included a visit from star Laurie Metcalf as P.J.’s and Andy’s Aunt Phyllis. She also has acting roots Chicago, having trained at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Trivia: Metcalf’s pedigree of course includes her work on Roseanne which also included one Johnny Galecki (David Healy – Darleen’s boyfriend-turned-husband). Galecki, another Chicago homeboy, plays Trouty, the annoying but not-so-bad guy that orbits around the Boys’ inner circle.

My Boys airs on TBS, Monday nights at 10:00 (EST).
