Well Richard, you should have lived long enough by now to realize that anything that's truly good for children is bad for them. (sic) Or so we've been told by those who want to buck the trend and find something to b!tch about. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Tom Sawyer, Little Women, Treasure Island, all trash to poison little minds. Lord protect us all from kids who grew up reading King Arthur - Tales from the Round Table. Glorifying war at dinner. This is different from the evening news how?
Why just look at that crime promoting tripe that Beatrix Potter published! Starting our little ones off before they can barely read themselves. Peter Rabbit, a stealing story! Or Aesop's Fables. Simply awful!

Even the cruelty of weekend comics don't escape criticism and warnings that our kids will all grow up to be monsters for reading. I just don't know. Personally, I think Harry Potter has fallen into good company by being criticized.

Well written and well said. I agree as well. I thought the dedication in the book was perfect. As much as we all thank her for writing, it was lovely of her to dedicate the book to "you, if you have stuck with Harry until the end" or something of that sort.
