Music Review: Hannah Montana, Volume II

I have a confession to make. My sister and I are Hannah Montana addicts. We TiVo the series, buy all the gossip magazines about Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana's alter ego), and listen to her music religiously.
Miley Cyrus stars in Hannah Montana — a show about a fourteen-year-old pop star. Miley struggles to maintain her secret identity. Miley's father in the show and real life is Billy Ray Cyrus, the country star. He sang I want my Mullet Back and was recently on Dancing with the Stars.
Season Two premiered in May and brought ten new songs. In the show, they show about 30 seconds of a song at a time, so when the CD premieres, it's a big deal. Miley Cyrus used to live a couple blocks away from us. Then, word got out she lived there and a group of girls started stalking her. She had to move to a house with a gate! It's pretty funny, but also sad. That's the only reason why I don't want to be a celebrity.
Something neat about this CD is there's two CDs. There is the Hannah Montana songs, then there's a Miley Cyrus CD attached. The Miley CD is more edgy, and the Hannah one is more pop. They both rock. I think it's important that singers can sing different genres of music and she certainly can. She's very talented.
Track one on the Hannah Montana soundtrack CD is "We Got the Party." It's very high-energy and hyper. It's a good way to start the CD. It's seven in the morning, and I'm listening to it right now. I have a long day today and it's the perfect way to wake up.
Following it is "Nobody's Perfect." "Nobody's Perfect" was the first full song heard on Disney Channel. Around the time the show premiered, the video premiered as well. I, of course missed it, because I TiVo everything, so I got the first two seconds. I was pissed. Real pissed. "Nobody's Perfect" is okay. I really like the chorus, but the rest of the song is lacking something. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good song, just not one of the best. Plus, I hate her outfit in the music video. You would too! It's horrible. I don't know what she was thinking.
The next is "Make Some Noise," which they also play on Disney Channel. "Make Some Noise" is the slowest song of both albums and the season one songs by far. It also reminds me of a motivational speech. "Don't let anyone tell you who you are/Don't let anyone tell you you're not strong enough" is something from a motivational speech. Isn't it? I bet it was written during a motivational speech. It's pretty good. I like that Hannah Montana music is meant to inspire girls. That's cool.
Track Four is High Energy. It's called "Rock Star." Like all the season one songs, this song has to do with the show. The first season had songs like "Best of Both Worlds" and "Just Like You." Most Season Two songs have nothing to do with fame. This one does, which I believe is important.
Maddy is 16 and just ended her junior year of high school. She is an active writer for her school paper and excels in AP classes. She has a twin and loves the Pittsburgh Steelers. She is constantly distracted by everything from boys to, well, uh... boys. In her spare time, she writes novels. She has a radio show (part of the BC Radio Network) on Wednesdays at 5 PM available at BlogTalkRadio.

That is a great review of Hannah's CD! I like Nobody's Perfect a lot though. It might be my favorite song.
