The #1 seller at Amazon currently is the 2 CD/1 DVD complete works of the Traveling Wilburys. This contains both albums, four bonus tracks, and a DVD containing, among other things, all their music videos. On one hand, this group had some considerable grace as a relaxed and understated collaboration, considering the mega-star talent involved. On the other hand, by the same token they were not especially artistically ambitious with this project. Plus, everybody involved was well past their prime when they made these. Ultimately, it was one of those deals where the whole was less than the sum of the parts. They made a couple of passably decent songs, but it's their collective names selling this rather than anything of any lasting actual musical significance.

Fabolous goes From Nothin' to Somethin' on his first album for Def Jam. He packs this thing with guest appearances from Rihanna, Akon, and Little Jeezy among others.

The Dixie Chicks' favorite country singer is back. Toby Keith has a new thing called Big Dog Daddy. It is his first time self-producing.

Unreformed hawkish Hoosier hillbilly and sometimes candidate Al Barger runs the still squeezin' down the psychodelic Kentucky moonshine at MoreThings.com, what with the paranoid religious visions and the Pentacostal music and visions of God and anarchy running amok and such. Somebody oughta call the cops to report his out of control freedom of conscience. Till they come to take him away somewhere where he can't hurt anyone else, you can check out his weekly column of NEW ALBUM RELEASES.
