Clear Channel unveils text messaging service
Clear Channel has announced that it has launched a new service that will allow radio listeners to text message radio stations with song requests. The service will also allow users to text and request other information such as traffic reports. The service comes after a test program done in conjunction with Cingular that was a monthly service that also included the ability to stream live broadcasts and access material such as interviews and podcasts. Clear Channel said that it will not be moving forward with a paid service but rather focusing on the free text-messaging service.
Smashing Pumpkin ticket sales crash servers
Demand for Smashing Pumpkins tickets at its residency in Ashville, North Carolina has crashed the Ticketweb servers bringing the ticket sales to a standstill. The Orange Peel in Ashville is moving the online ticket sales from Ticketweb to TicketMaster to manage the demand. They have not stated when the tickets will be available, but it is hoped sometime early this week.
Method Man Charged with Drug Possession
Method Man has been charged with possession of marijuana in New York. The member of the Wu Tang Clan was pulled over when police noticed that the tags on his car had expired. He was found to be in possession of 28 grams of marijuana and was later charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and operating a motor vehicle under the influence among other things.
