LX.TV Tour: 1st Look New York - Monday Room and Yelo
Published May 02, 2007
In this week's video, Cecile Raubenheimer shows you how to fight those Monday blues and how to find your own personal heaven in midtown.
Just another Manic Monday, wish it were a Sunday? Not that anything is going to make you love getting out of bed on a Monday morning, fighting for an inch of personal space on the 6 train and dealing with an ego-maniacal boss all before 9 am, but Monday Room is giving a better name to a day we all despise.
Monday Room is NoLita's newest fusion restaurant. Part of the acclaimed Public restaurant, Monday Room offers unique tasting plates with Australian and New Zealand influences. Executive Chef Brad Farmerie created a menu using exotic ingredients and serves it in a sexy setting. Sorted's Heather Tierney agrees. She finds the food special and the space amazing for an intimate date. Maybe Monday, not Saturday, should be the new date night; or at the very least, the new date place.

Reviews: The strong buzz
Ever curl up in your cubicle and try to grab a power nap? Well you don't need to be a contortionist anymore to catch a few Zs during the day. At Yelo in midtown, you can close your eyes, kick back, and relax in style and comfort. Yelo brings tired New Yorkers relaxation pods where they can get some much needed shut eye. This urban retreat also offers quick reflexology treatments to leave you feeling rejuvenated and ready to tackle the concrete jungle. So rather than sneaking out of the office for another cappuccino to jolt you back to productivity, heed Yelo's wake up call and try their version of a midday respite.
