It’s not often (maybe even never) that you find a Christian fiction novel about a soap star. Most Christians disdain soap operas and yet they are a long-standing part of our culture. Readers will find Bateman’s treatment of the topic realistic. The main character struggles to be a light for Christ in a world that mocks her faith. Readers will find this book hilarious and inspiring.

I enjoyed this book thoroughly. I personally do not watch soaps, mostly because as a child I was forced to watch them with my grandmother. It was fun to revisit the world of soaps and to see it through the eyes of a Christian struggling to be a light in the darkness.
