I can definitely see the comparison to Tori Amos - but as a huge Joni Mitchell and Carole King fan, I'd say she leans more towards traditional songwriting than the eccentricities of Ms. Amos. She also has much better vocal capabilities than Ms. Amos. I just discovered this artist through MySpace, and became a fan.
