Making the Rounds at General Hospital - Sore Separations

Today on General Hospital:

Thanks to the interference of Mr. Craig – or I guess it's Bronsan now – Patrick and Robin are back to butting heads and screaming at each other at the nurse's station and in front of patients. Patrick, who tends to be overly dramatic to get his way, tried to keep Sonny in the hospital one more day. Robin accused him of doing it just to get a rise out of her. Maybe it was just to keep her close by; he's confused and hurt by her change of tune, and as he displayed today, still suspicious of the reasons why.

If we can't have 'scrubs' fogging up the TV screen, seeing the biting angst is the next best thing. By week's end Patrick is to have his eyes opened, and I'm anxious to see how he steps up to not only save Robin and Nikolas from Craig, but I'm guessing he's going to play a major role in taking down the bad guy.

The new super-bad guy had another near-miss today when Luke showed up to question Nikolas about why Laura named him her guardian. Nikolas also had to answer those questions to Scott, who asked Nikolas to sign guardianship over to him. I'm not sure why either man is mystified by Laura's choice. Nikolas is her oldest son and, as Tracy later tried to explain to Luke, she would want him to move on with his life since all medical knowledge says her condition is irreversible. I expect that before too long we'll find out that isn't exactly true, about the same time TPTB can get Francis to come back for another stint.

There may be a light at the end of the Sonny – Carly – Jax tunnel. After visits from both Jax and Jason telling Sonny he had to let Carly go, Sonny showed up at her doorstep and said he was there to sign the divorce papers. Of course, as he sat there pen at the ready he had to get back into why he shouldn't be doing it – and tomorrow's previews showed him still spewing on and on. I do think we'll see him do it tomorrow though.

I'm not dumb enough to think it will be the end of his trying to win her heart back. He will be fighting for her until Carly says "I do," and I'm not sure even that will stop him. All we can hope for is there is someone on the horizon who will catch Sonny's eyes and heart again. (Please don't let it be a heartbroken Emily!) My guess is when that happens, it will be Carly interfering in Sonny's life. Isn't that the way it always works?
