MGM Films on iTunes and The Daily Music and Tech News

MGM Studios has joined Paramount and Lionsgate in selling their movies through iTunes. The movies will be in a format that can be watched on Apple TV, Mac and PCs and the iPod. MGM will start with 500 titles and it has said that it will add more titles in the coming weeks.
New Pixies tribute album in the works
A Pixies tribute album has been announced with a fall release date. The album Dig for Fire will be available on November 13th. No track listing has been announced for the album, although some of the contributing artists have been confirmed. Among the artists contributing tracks are OK Go, They Might Be Giants, and Mogwai.
The lineup for Lollapalooza 2007 has been revealed with Pearl Jam leading the way. The Chicago festival will be held over an expanded three day period in August, from the 3rd to the 5th. More than 120 artists will be playing the nine stages in Chicago's Grant Park. Some of the artists set to play are Modest Mouse, Snow Patrol, Kings of Leon, Iggy Pop & The Stooges, Patti Smith, Spoon, Amy Winehouse, Ben Harper and Sean Lennon.
