Game du Jour Deals: April 2 through April 8

Game du Jour is a "One Deal a Day" website for casual PC games. Every day of the week, GameDuJour.com sells one downloadable game at a steep discount.

Every week Blogcritics Magazine will bring you a look of those games, so you know what to expect when the featured game gets its 24 hours in the spotlight.

We aim to publish reviews at least one day before the game goes on sale at GameDuJour.com, so please check back regularly. But we will admit, as much as we love casual games here at Blogcritics, we won't be able to get to every title.

AstroMenace

AstroMenace is a brilliant 3D scroll-shooter allowing you to feel the adrenaline rush of a fierce space battle against relentless swarms of alien invaders. Immerse into a decisive battle against tons of cunning foes, face the terrifying bosses and protect your homeland throughout 15 diverse levels of the game. The hardcore gameplay of AstroMenace, packed with pure non-stop action, will become a full-scale test for your basic instinct of survival.

AstroMenace shines with stunning special effects which in combination with superb 3D graphics guarantee that the game will feast the eyes of even most experienced arcade players. The quality of visuals ensures that the demonstration of your superior power and new weaponry will look really impressive and awesome, so the destruction of foes is a truly amazing sight.

The game provides a wide variety of armaments and weapon upgrades for discharging the retributive wrath upon the hordes of enemies, besides it has a great number of improvements for enhancing the defensive abilities of your spaceship. Collect money during the combat and invest them into turning your spaceship into an ultimate weapon of mass destruction.

The Raxxla Bugs

Raxxla Bugs is an arcade game with some Lemmings flavor. Who doesn't know Lemmings? You don't know? Well for you then, this is a new game, but for all who already played in their childhood Lemmings this is another clone of it.%D%A%D%A "Where more workers are, the more the power grows". A flying saucer will generate some bugs, which have to collect mushrooms and some kind of snails. Unfortunately these bugs are simple robots and you have to control them with every move...

Hexaxis XXI
Writer: Kaonashi

Hexaxis screenshotHexaxis uses some elements from popular puzzle games like Bejeweled, but in the context of dice. The rules are complex, but the basic objective is to form combos by joining similar-sided dice. For example, group 7 or more sevens, 3 or more threes. The trick is in figuring out the best way to move a die down the board so it's showing the side you want. There are several modes of play. Classic is the basic game and offers dice previews. Advanced is harder and doesn't give you a dice preview. Quick Run is a fast-paced, three-minute session.
