For the average person, climbing up a mountain either means you’re in for some recreational skiing or you’re an adventurer with a taste for reaching new heights. Ralph Dibny, however, is searching for something a bit more meaningful.

Nanda Parbat, a land that other 52 characters have visited previously, is a land full of wonders. Nothing is more amazing than a man who has the ability to heal or destroy matter with sound or the legendary Yeti charging straight for your throat!

Ralph Dibny’s trek to the magical land of Nanda Parbat shares space with three of the other storylines. This week in 52, we also take a look at how much closer the space heroes are to getting home. It doesn’t look like there are better days ahead of them. It’s four against Lady Styx and her horrible hordes. I’m rooting for them to come back safe and sound, but they’ll need more than cheerleading if they want to ever make it out alive.

Back on Earth, the youngest of the Black Marvel family gets in on the recruiting blitz for the Teen Titans. If you’ve been reading Teen Titans recently, all these new faces might be familiar to you, because they were included in the big photo collage during the Teen Titans “Titans Around the World” story arc. It’s no shock that the Titans have an issue with Osiris joining the Titans because the man who bestowed his powers upon him is not the nicest guy on the planet.

You can’t help but feel sorry for the poor kid. He’s been through a hell of a lot. He’s been enslaved, he’s been put up as a sacrifice, and he’s been horrifically crippled. As Osiris, he not only has been restored to full life, but he’s also been given god-level abilities. Still, with all that, he gets no respect and he’s considered an “anti-American.” It’s enough to make a kid rip someone in half!

So I guess that was it for Osiris as a Teen Titan, but fortunately that’s not the end of the Black Marvel Family’s story - or Sobek’s story for that matter. What did this giant, ferocious crocodile want with the Sivana family, and does he have some sort of motivation to pal around with Osiris? I’ll just sit patiently and wait for answers in the upcoming weeks.

This week’s DC universe Bio is a bit different from most of the others because it’s about one of the newest characters in the DC universe. It’s the new Blue Beetle, who was given the mantle after, well, the previous one had his head blown off.

There was a bit of controversy over this new Blue Beetle because the previous one was beloved, only to be replaced by a younger version who is of a different ethnic background. This smells of DC Comics stunting in the name of “diversity.” Oh boy, that’s a tangent.

I’ll just leave it at this: 52, Week 32 is a solid bit of storytelling. The continuation of Ralph Dibny’s long, hard quest to find some closure to the tragedy of losing his wife is the best story to read this issue. Accomplished Perfect Physician is by far the most interesting (and arguably the most powerful) of the Chinese superhero group, the Great Ten. If and when you read this issue, I think you’ll agree.
