Championship Cribbage Pro

The Cribbage card game gets its name from the cards that are placed in the 'crib' at the beginning of the hand. Championship Cribbage includes hundreds of popular variations including: Muggins, Captains, and Lowball. Make your crib count and peg your win!

Championship Checkers screenshotThere are probably hundreds of computer checkers games out there, but most have no personality. Some are nothing more than black and red circles on a black and white checkerboard. Other games don't even have background music. Yawn. For a checkers game with a lot more pizzazz, try Championship Checkers Pro.

In Championship Checkers, you play on a realistic-looking checkerboard. Music plays as you and your computer opponent duke it out. But what really makes it better than most computer checkers games is that there's so much flexibility that it's almost overwhelming. Play against the computer or online. Select your computer opponent's difficulty level. Choose which rule variation to follow, or create your own house rules. There's a live tutorial and coaching available. During actual game play, if you screw up a move you can undo it. There's a lot of customizability in the aesthetic sense as well. Select from a variety of differently designed checkerboards, pieces, and even the tabletop. Choose your avatar or upload your own image.

I've got one major complaint however. When the computer opponent is "thinking," it often takes a very long time, sometimes several minutes. I don't think that the computer opponent is supposed to take as long as a human to calculate its next move. I find it hard to believe that I'm somehow "stumping" it. Still, checkers fans will enjoy this souped up version of their favorite game.
