Flying Imams Announce Lawsuit Against US Airways

Written by Charles Signorile
Published March 13, 2007

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, which is representing the imams, held a news conference in Washington, D.C., Tuesday to announce the filing of a discrimination lawsuit against U.S. Airways by the six Islamic religious leaders. The imams were removed from a flight in Minneapolis last November. They say their removal from the flight was based on racism and religious intolerance. You didn't have to be a prophet to see this lawsuit coming. The Council on American-Islamic Relations will have you believe these six "religious leaders" were persecuted because of American stereotypes and intolerance. The mainstream media will accommodate them in replaying that story throughout the trial while undoubtedly ignoring certain facts.

The Washington Times ran an editorial when this incident first occurred regarding some of the facts of this case. Both passengers and flight attendants told law enforcement officials that the imams were behaving oddly. For example, they switched from their assigned seats to a pattern associated with the September 11 terrorist attacks and also found in probes of U.S. security since the attacks — two in the front row first-class, two in the middle of the plane on the exit aisle and two in the rear of the cabin.

“That would alarm me,” said a federal air marshal who asked to remain anonymous. “They now control all of the entry and exit routes to the plane.”

A pilot from another airline said: “That behavior has been identified as a terrorist probe in the airline industry.”

The pilot with another airline who talked to The Washington Times on condition of anonymity, said he would have made the same call as the US Airways pilot.

“If any group of passengers is commingling in the terminal and didn’t sit in their assigned seats or with each other, I would stop everything and investigate until they could provide me with a reason they did not sit in their assigned seats.”

Now let’s overlook the fact that these were Muslim men who had previously been heard praying to “Allah”, and pretend for a moment they were middle class Caucasian men. Is it reasonable to believe that six men who knew each other, were coming from the same event, and flying to the same city, would have gone out of their way to not sit together, unless there were an ulterior motive? Obviously that in itself is a bit suspicious, but let’s move on shall we?

Two flight attendants told police that three of the men asked for seat-belt extenders, although none were heavy. One flight attendant told police she “found this unsettling, as crew knew about the six [passengers] on board and where they were sitting.” Rather than attach the extensions, the men placed the straps and buckles on the cabin floor, the flight attendant said.

The most SUSPICIOUS behavior I have seen in US airports has been that of the obnoxious, FAT, loud, belligerant and arrogant security assholes.

How any civilized country would want to present those thugs and thugettes as its image seems VERY suspicious to me.

#2 — March 14, 2007 @ 12:55PM — Methuselah

MR must be flying different routes from me. I've always found the TSA people to be circumspect, fair and polite. For my part, I always tell them I appreciate the job they're doing when we're finished.

Any passenger desiring to change seats in mid-flight should always speak first to the crew because there are many reasons for discouraging seat changes.

On any airplane the captain is totally in charge. It must be so, just as it is on a sailing ship, because he alone is responsible for everyone aboard. Anyone who doubts the efficacy of this rule ought to do more sailing.

As for the CAIR, I did considerable research into that organization a couple years ago and satisfied myself that they are a shady organization, prone to dissembling, and very likely knowingly connected to terrorist organizations. That was my personal judgement. YMMV.

#3 — March 14, 2007 @ 14:17PM — Nancy

Muslims are automatically suspect because their own co-religionists have made them so. The only ones they can blame are themselves & each other. It ain't militant Buddhists or Quakers who are the murder & terror champions of the world.

#4 — March 14, 2007 @ 14:26PM — Paul2

Congratulations Nancy, it is quite an accomplishment to stuff so much ignorance and stupdity into three sentences.

#5 — March 14, 2007 @ 14:52PM — moonraven

Paul:

Nancy has all day on her employer's nickel to work on her blogcritics bon mots.

I would be willing to be that I do a lot more flying around than Methuselah does. He or she clearly just flies within the Us, whereas I tend to enter the US from Latin America and the Middle East fairly frequently--and the welcome ain't pretty. Especially in Texas.

#6 — March 14, 2007 @ 14:53PM — moonraven

should be willing to BET.

#7 — March 14, 2007 @ 18:51PM — Dave Nalle [URL]

Congratulations Nancy, it is quite an accomplishment to stuff so much ignorance and stupdity into three sentences.

And pure truth, don't forget that. She had a good bit of it in there too.

Dave

Moonraven, I disagree with you frequently, but never more than on this issue. You are NOT, by any stretch, more entertaining than Arch Conservative. Nobody on this site is.

#9 — March 14, 2007 @ 19:16PM — moonraven

You have no taste.

Another white boy who can't dance, undoubtedly.

#10 — March 14, 2007 @ 20:33PM — Michael J. West [URL]

What does my ability or inability to dance have to do with my ability to spot good comedy?

#11 — March 14, 2007 @ 20:38PM — Arch Conservative

"Another white boy who can't dance, undoubtedly."

Gee I wonder what kind of reaction I'd get from moonbats like you Moonbat if i said something like that but replaced white with black and dance with any other verb.

I'm not only more entertaining than you but I'm more in touch with reality than a hitperson for the leftist mafia like you could ever hope to be.

#12 — March 14, 2007 @ 20:44PM — Michael J. West [URL]

I'm more in touch with reality than a hitperson for the leftist mafia like you could ever hope to be.

Let's not be too hasty there, Archie. When I said you were the most entertaining person on this site I didn't mean you were entertaining on purpose.

#13 — March 14, 2007 @ 23:05PM — Michael J. West [URL]

See, MR? Adorable. You couldn't come up with such a cute little rant like that. And Lord knows you've tried. :-)

#14 — March 14, 2007 @ 23:36PM — Matthew T. Sussman [URL]

"You are NOT, by any stretch, more entertaining than Arch Conservative. Nobody on this site is."

(Single tear rolls down cheek)

#15 — March 14, 2007 @ 23:49PM — jaz [URL]

geez Suss...how do ya think i feel?

/sniffles

"I really do HATE her and if I went to bed tonight with the knowledge that Moonbat and many of her leftist fuckwit cronies were going to die in their sleep tonight you can bet your sweet ass that I'd wake up a very happy man tomorrow as I know the world I'd be waking up in would be a far far better place than it was today."

not only overflowing with the very milk of human Kindness and Christian forgiveness but clever enough to create "fuckwit" as an adjective!

/end sarcasm

#16 — March 15, 2007 @ 07:50AM — Nancy

A pity Arch & MR hate each other, 'cause he's so far to the right, & she so far to the left, in a sense they meet on the ends; they were MADE for each other!

I dunno: Suss can be pretty entertaining. Jaz definitely is, as are Troll & Shark. Where IS ol' Sharkie, anyway? We haven't heard from him for awhile....

#17 — March 15, 2007 @ 09:09AM — Michael J. West [URL]

God, it breaks my heart that Arch's comment between my two above was deleted. Absolute perfection.

I'm with you, though, Nancy. Archie and Moonraven should totally date. They are much more alike than they are different.

Paul2 replied:

[spelling correction on Paul's comment was my work. Yer welcome, Paul]

Paul, you managed to stuff stupidity, ignorance and an agenda all into one sentence. Mazel tov!

Nancy is right on the money. Unfortunately, Moslem terrorists have created a bad atmosphere for peace-loving Moslems - so much so, that it is impossible for some to realize that yes, there are peace-loving Moslems.

And these assholes from CAIR doing all the complaining help fund the terrorists, to boot! Paul, I realize that getting your head out of the sand is not my job. When the Arabs decide to hit whatever community you come from, maybe you'll figure some of this shit out for yourself - if you survive.

#19 — March 15, 2007 @ 15:08PM — moonraven

Dating is for teenagers.

#20 — March 15, 2007 @ 15:27PM — Nancy

While I'm no fan of christianity, I've got to admit that when some christians go 'bad', the rest of them at least make an effort to clean house, so to speak: predatory priests get outed & jailed, the vatican gets sued & has to fork over billions to the victims, predatory televangelists get jailed, two-faced preachers caught in the act of hypocrisy get defrocked, & christian society in general deplores & disowns them. This does not seem to be true of muslims. The good, 'normal' people of Islam seem to make little or no effort to rise up & disavow these murderous jerks; certainly they put no pressure on their leaders or media to condemn & cut them off. More than a few even support them actively. Then muslims in general have the nerve to wonder why most non-muslims equate 'muslim' & 'islam' with terrorism & violence. I've been following Al Jazeera for about a year now, just to get their slant on stuff, & rarely do I hear/read about any sort of negative reaction to terrorism & violence by these thugs. And as I said, most sects don't even commit these sorts of actions. No one is ever going to equate Buddhists with terrorism.

#21 — March 15, 2007 @ 15:30PM — Michael J. West [URL]

Okay, then, Moonraven, you and Arch should get married.

#22 — March 15, 2007 @ 15:33PM — Nancy

I don't think MR believes in marriage, either, Mike. I think they should bypass all that & just go straight to a flaming virulent divorce. Truly this would be a marriage made in hell, no? They both love to hate. Everyone who isn't them.

#23 — March 15, 2007 @ 15:50PM — moonraven

Nancy,

I think you should bypass this site and go straight to hell.

Of course I do not believe in marriage. What sane person could believe in a siuation designed to bring out the worst in both parties....

#24 — March 15, 2007 @ 16:36PM — Clavos

Gawd, she's easy to bait...

#25 — March 15, 2007 @ 17:10PM — Matthew T. Sussman [URL]

Go directly to hell. Do not bypass BC, do not collect $200.

#26 — March 15, 2007 @ 20:54PM — Arch Conservative

God, it breaks my heart that Arch's comment between my two above was deleted. Absolute perfection.

You're damn skippy Michael! I have been doing nothing but pissing and shitting excellence since the day I came out of the womb!

"Of course I do not believe in marriage. What sane person could believe in a situation designed to bring out the worst in both parties...."

Of course she doesn't Nancy, Moonbat doesn't believe in anything decent, traditional or remotely normal. She, like many of the militant man hating feminists, capitalist hating because they don't believe in personal responsibility commies, and other assorted leftists kooks, views life through the prism of the habitually victimized. "Nothing is ever my fault or his or her fault.. it's society's fault."

#27 — March 16, 2007 @ 00:01AM — Zedd

Your article is full of lies. I heard the NPR interview of these men after this incedent happened. You are just lying.

White people have terrorized the entire globe.

GIVE US ALL A BREAK!!!

Every corner of the Earth has been invaded and terrorized by WHITE PEOPLE.

Should we all hate you and suspect that you are about to do something horrible simply because you are White? The nerve!!!

I mean really, the nerve.

If those men had box cutters and the pilot and crew had caved THEY would be the idiots.

The 911 event was about a HANDFUL of Muslim kooks with box cutters. Now we are crazed and suspect of all Muslims and loosing our minds when Whites have caused so much maham around the globe and continue to ride the backs of the people of the entire planet in so many ways it's ridiculous.

300,000 Iraqis are dead for nothing because of OUR beliefs. How should the world treat us??

#28 — March 16, 2007 @ 00:12AM — Michael J. West [URL]

You're damn skippy Michael! I have been doing nothing but pissing and shitting excellence since the day I came out of the womb!

Oh, my God. Oh God...

Oh Jesus...

OHHHHHHHHHH WOW...

(picking myself up off the floor where I collapsed in several hysterical bursts of laughter)

Archie, my boy, that one line may have singlehandedly canceled out every one of the hundreds and hundreds of adorably stupid comments you've made on this site.

#29 — March 16, 2007 @ 00:54AM — Clavos

White people have terrorized the entire globe.

Every corner of the Earth has been invaded and terrorized by WHITE PEOPLE

Riiight.

A few other terrorists in history:

The Moors
The Barbary Pirates
The Assassins
The Thugees
Genghis Khan
Tojo
The Mau Mau
Idi Amin
The PLO
Hezbollah

Not much white in those.

As usual Zedd, you're long on generalizations and short on facts.

#30 — March 16, 2007 @ 01:11AM — Michael J. West [URL]

Well, the ethnic groups of the Arab world are technically Caucasian, Clavos....

#31 — March 16, 2007 @ 01:34AM — Clavos

Point taken, MJW.

Scratch the PLO and Hezbollah, Zedd.

#32 — March 16, 2007 @ 01:40AM — MCH

"Where IS ol' Sharkie, anyway? We haven't heard from him for awhile...."

Nancy,
Shark mentioned that he became discouraged when BC's owners permitted Nalle to get away with the Vox Populi fraud, ie, having a conversation with himself using two different identities.

#33 — March 16, 2007 @ 01:45AM — Clavos

Add back in a contemporary group of non-white terrorists, Zedd:

The Janjaweed.

#34 — March 16, 2007 @ 14:50PM — moonraven

Not to mention clavos' buddies, The Posada Gang.

#35 — March 16, 2007 @ 16:00PM — Zedd

MJW

According to FBI typing YES Arabs are White but they distinguish themselves. DNA tests are now able to distinguish between people of Middle Eastern origin from Europeans. Most Iranians per se consider themselves different because they see themselves as Arian and therefore white. Arabs are thought to have African blood thus not "White".

Clavos,

I don't know what you are on about. I have never said that Whites are the only people who have terrorized on the planet Earth. My point is that Whites have done the MOST damage to other people and their cultures.

If you can name the offenders when we are talking about on a global and historical basis, then they are not all that impactfull. Look at just about EVERY "indigenous" culture on the planet. Whites have pretty much stolen, distorted, destroyed and then lied about it. If I have to name the situations in order for you to be convinced then it is YOU who needs to step away for this dialogue because you are ill equipped.

What are you defending?

Again 300,000 killed by us TODAY, right now Clavos, the good old USA and we don't even care. We find some bizarre rationale for it and have the nerve to point fingers and other people for doing far, far less. Its sick.

#36 — March 16, 2007 @ 16:08PM — Zedd

Clavos

The PLO, Hezbollah? Are you saying that the Palestinians don't have a right to form a militia to defend themselves against a European invading force which has stolen their land and relegated them to small pockets of land where they are monitored with curfews and searches at will?

You say that THEY are the terrorists? Should they just go along with the entire enterprise? I supposed we are accustomed to non-Whites marching and singing "We Shall Overcome SOME DAY", while we bask in the fruits of their suffering and tisk tisk at them for being lesser...

Shame on YOU!!!

And we wonder why people are angry at us????

#37 — March 16, 2007 @ 16:21PM — Zedd

The title of TERRORIST is another way for the powerful to supress the powerless. War terrorizes. We have attacked the entire nation of Iraq for no known reason other than to further our interests. That is what Bin Laden was doing. Nothing different. We are TERRORISTS in this situation.

The argument is that terrorists involve civilain populations. We have killed 650,000 Iraqis most of whom are civilians. There have been 3500 coalition deaths. We went in knowing that there would be enumerable civilian cassualties.

#38 — March 16, 2007 @ 16:22PM — Zedd

Clavos

Correction: 650K Iraqi deaths.

#39 — March 16, 2007 @ 16:31PM — moonraven

Clavos wouldlove to be a terrorist--that's why he hangs with the South Florida anti-Castro terrorists.

He doesn't have the balls to be one, though.

#40 — March 16, 2007 @ 17:45PM — Zedd

MR

Sounds more like Dave than Clavos. Did you read the DC thread? OMG, scary!!!! They got waaaaaay too happy about those guns.

#41 — March 29, 2007 @ 14:01PM — Almad Asfaseri

Throw there fat butts out of this coutry, there only here to make problems for all us, who come to this coutry to fee terine. They want to cause trouble. There helping thoses others who hate this coutry. Use the liberal system against true americans

#42 — March 29, 2007 @ 14:11PM — Almad Asfaseri

America is a kind and gental country, the liberals need to go to europe and live. Imams need something else to do with there free time, how about helping people with all that money they collect.

#43 — March 30, 2007 @ 12:55PM — Almad Asfaseri

This is the most stupid statement ever madebe low mine, American liberals are why the enmey of the U.S. are never afraid of America. I as a Iraqis am prood of the Americans helping us. THANK YOU AMERICA.
"The argument is that terrorists involve civilain populations. We have killed 650,000 Iraqis most of whom are civilians. There have been 3500 coalition deaths. We went in knowing that there would be enumerable civilian cassualties." Please if you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem. Please help the american solidiers help us. Please.

#44 — March 30, 2007 @ 13:55PM — Nancy

Actually, the Tartars & Mongols did considerable cultural damage in their day, not to mention genocide where ever possible. So it wasn't just the whites, altho they were the main players for the last few centuries, mainly through spreading disease & religion. The Chinese have also wiped out quite a few cultures & ethnic groups in their eminent 3,000-year history that makes even whites look like pikers. Consider Mao. Or Pol Pot (altho he's not Chinese) - both easily able to go toe to toe in any estimation of genocidal murders with Stalin, Lenin, or Hitler, or any other white for that matter.
