In a classic case of overkill, the film is presented with a 6.1 DTS-ES mix. Aside from a few positional moments, there’s little of note. There’s hardly any difference between this and the 51. EX track also offered. Bass is mild at best, even when the soundtrack picks up.

Even with the scenes added into the actual film, there’s still more to go around. The 30 additional minutes of deleted scenes in the extras portion of the disc offer up plenty of laughs. A sub-plot about a storage chest fails miserably and was a wise deletion. Two additional endings were also left out for the right reasons, though they do offer some gags on their own.

A nice 18-minute retrospective misses many key players in the making of the film (Carrey, Holly, Farrelly are the notable absentees), though still offers some great stories from the set. Daniels offers up some nice stories on how the film affected his career and bit players like Harland Williams offer more details on their roles. The disc contains a number of hidden features to round itself off after some trailers. Look for a short feature on the infamous bathroom sequence, and the kitchen fight.

While it’s hardly a surprise with a massive box office, the studio tried to capitalize on the film in additional ways. A mercifully short-lived cartoon spin-off failed to generate the same type of laughs due to a new demographic. Years later the prequel did even more damage, failing to star any of the key roles. In fact, only one bit player makes an appearance in cheap, unfunny, and completely skippable Dumb and Dumberer.
