The White Stripes have completed work on their new album. The album is entitled Icky Thump and is the product of a record three weeks of studio time from the band. The release date for the album has not been announced as the White Stripes are in the process of finding a label to release it.
A bid placed by Warner Music Group for EMI has been rejected. The bid was for GBP 2.1 Billion in cash and was a proposed take over. EMI has said that the deal was not good for its shareholders. EMI were approached about the takeover in the end of January and said they would entertain any offer based on whether it would be approved by European regulators and on the offered price.
Wilco have released information about their upcoming world tour. The band will be touring in support of the upcoming album Sky Blue Sky. The tour will kick off in Australia in April and will include dates in Europe and the UK before returning to the States to play at this year's Bonnaroo Festival. Sky Blue Sky is due out on May 15th.
