Published February 20, 2007
The Jam have announced that they will reunite for a British tour and a new album without Paul Weller. Original drummer Rick Buckler and bassist Bruce Foxton are returning with guitarist David Moore and singer Russell Hastings to mark the 30th anniversary of the band’s Debut In The City.
Tickets to the Police Reunion tour have sold out. Shows in Vancouver, two dates Toronto, and Montreal sold out right away. Shows at Madison Square Garden and in Boston also sold out when they went on sale this morning. Shows have been added in the New York area, Montreal and Vancouver. Shows are also expected to be announced in Oakland and Los Angeles.
EMI has been approached by the Warner Music Group with a takeover proposal. The proposal will create the second largest music company in the world if it is approved. EMI has been in favor of testing downloads without Digital Rights Management. The takeover is being supported by Independent Music Publishers and Labels Association, which represents 3,500 music publishers.
