Ghost Rider. (2006, 110 minutes, PG-13, horror, trailer) Another in the line of Marvel comic character adaptations. This one is about a man who made a supernatural deal that left him cursed with the Ghost Rider, a fiery demon that would take control of his body. It is up to Nicolas Cage, as Johnny Blaze, to control the Rider and use its power to stop Blackheart from doing his evil deeds. I cannot say that this looks good, but I am a fan of the character and just hope that it's at least watchable.

Music and Lyrics. (2006, 96 minutes, PG-13, romantic comedy, trailer) Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore star in this romantic comedy about an aging pop star and his last shot at fame, and love. It looks like it could be a little goofy, although I have heard that it is not that good. Barrymore is a likable screen presence, so it at least has that going for it.

Box Office Predictions

Well, Norbit started strong last week while Hannibal Rising withered on the vine. Will this week yield a similar response? Time will tell. A couple of films had a head start by beginning on Wednesday, cashing in on the Valentine's Day holiday, so it will be interesting to see if that will translate into a big weekend. I am thinking that the Cage comic book adaptation will take the top slot. Of course, I have been known to be wrong. From time to time.

Here is how I think the top ten field will play out:

RankTitleBox Office
1Ghost Rider$26 million
2Norbit$21 million
3Bridge to Terabithia$19 million
4Music and Lyrics$17 million
5

Daddy's Little Girls

$13 million
6Breach

$8 million

7Because I Said So$7 million
8Hannibal $3 million
9Night at the Museum$2.5 million
10Pan's Labyrinth$2 million

What are you seeing this weekend?
