Season Three of Beyond the Break Ordered By The N
Published February 09, 2007
Lately, The N has been premiering loads of new episodes of Beyond the Break. Another episode, about Dawn's future at WaveSync, is going to air on February 16, along with season three of Instant Star, the latest success of the people of Degrassi.
The N left us with Birdie (Tiffany Hines) engaged to Marcus, who's now in Iraq. She's trying to keep the peace around the house, because of a surf contest about who goes to Fuji. Kai (Sonya Balmores) is off to Fuji, much to Dawn's (Suzie Pollard) dismay. Dawn is now threatening to leave WaveSync for good. In fact, she's moved out. Will she join the enemy Plankton team? Lacey (Natalie Ramsey) is patching things up with her mom after her mom threatened to take her back home. Justin (David Chockachi), WaveSync's surf coach, is not only having his own lady troubles with his soon-to-be ex wife, but is also trying to handle the drama in the house. Shoe (Jason Tam), Justin's assistant, is busy dealing with his new girlfriend, Erin (of rival Plankton team). Bailey (Ross Thomas), the soft-hearted bad boy next door, is hanging around and helping Shoe. They haven't given him a big plot yet, much to my disappointment.
The N is so confident that the upcoming episodes of season two will do well with viewers that they have given the producers a green light to film more. Therefore, a brand new season of Beyond the Break will film and there will be very happy fans, because season three already sounds interesting.
The best thing about the new season is there will be a new character! That's right, in season two, Vin (Michael Copon) was recongized as an official character. In season three, Bailey's younger brother will arrive in Hawaii. We don't know much about him yet, except his name is DJ and he's played by Michael Brooks. He is also the love interest of one of the WaveSync surfers. I wish I knew who.
There's also going to be more drama than in season two. There seems to be more competition between the WaveSync girls. Someone is going to have major financial problems, while someone else if worried if they will lose their home. Most shockingly, two of the girls will be stranded at sea.
Are you ready for the bad news?
Season three will premiere in early 2008. Ouch. That's a long time. Since I'm an optimistic person, I always have to end on a good note. You have the rest of season two to hold you over.

Beyond the Break is strictly a guilty pleasure for me. I wish they would issue a press release for South of Nowhere season 3. They're cruel having me wait on pins and needles. I wonder which show gets higher ratings-- BtB or SoN? I hope it's SoN because it's a better show but the masses usually like crap as long as there's pretty girls prancing around in bikinis and hot guys showing their sun-kissed abs!
