Winning Eleven to Shoot Again in February
Published January 29, 2007
The Winning Eleven series is hoping to continue its winning formula with some new tricks up its sleeve for its newest release.
Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 will mark the series' debut on both the Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS and will continue its chase for the cup on the Playstation 2, Sony PSP and PC (sorry Xbox owners). Each version will feature the series' trademark game play, however, Konami is promising a number of features exclusive to each format.
All versions will feature updated game play mechanics and modes involving a roster of real leading teams and players, including new, fully licensed international teams. Konami has also bumped up the artificial intelligence in the new version.
Playstation 2 owners can look forward to new game mode choices in the International Challenge and random match modes. Winning Eleven 2007 also updates the Master League mode on the PS2 in order to give players more control over their favorite team. Utilizing the system's multitap accessory, up to eight players can compete on the same system and by taking the game online; players can participate in four-player games.
This year's effort marks the series' debut on current generation systems, offering enhanced graphics, animations and move sets. The game allows up to four players to compete on a single console with online game play for up to two players on Xbox Live. The 360 version also tweaks the Master League mode.
The Master Mode makes its portable debut on the PSP version of the game. Using the PSP's wireless technology, the game supports up to two players locally.
The series debuts this year on the Nintendo DS with touch screen features to change your team's tactics on the fly. The DS version will also support multiplayer for up to two people wirelessly.
Konami is currently looking to ship Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 on Feb. 6.
